Prior to submitting an application, participants must complete registration no later than Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
Applications will be accepted for several weeks after registration has closed. All applications are due no later than Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
Over a period of several weeks, the Pitt Sustainability Challenge team will review each submission to ensure it complies with application requirements and rules.
All eligible applications will move to the Evaluation Panel, which will score and provide feedback on their assigned submissions using the scoring rubric (scores are normalized for fairness).
The Pitt Sustainability Challenge Planning Team will review the top-scoring submissions and select and announce up to five Finalists which will prepare to pitch their ideas at a live event on campus.
Finalists will review the feedback from the Evaluation Panel provided on their applications and prepare to pitch their ideas in person.
Finalists will publicly pitch to the Selection Committee, which will select the awardee of the $300,000 grant.
In partnership with the University of Pittsburgh, the Awardee will implement their project over the course of 1-2 years.
