Doug Condon has been on the forefront of change in the energy industry since its transformation from a regulated cost of service industry to today’s energy market where value is driven by resource specific generation and fast reaction to market conditions. He has successfully worked with end users to capitalize on market opportunities and develop long term energy procurement strategies. He has a passion for accelerating the adoption of energy technologies that provide economic value to customers and contribute to a better way of life for everyone.
Presently as Managing Director and cofounder of Three Rivers Energy, Doug has structured over $2B of energy transactions including GW scale utility solar and wind PPAs and behind the meter DG projects, tolling agreements, and electricity and natural gas agreements. He has actively managed an energy portfolio of over 600MW for almost 20 years resulting in over $100 million of energy savings and reduced exposure to market volatility. Additionally, he has provided global market analysis for renewable energy procurement for Fortune 100 companies and consults to several large data center companies on energy strategy. He is also working with several early stage energy and technology companies in an advisory role.
Previously Doug was Vice President of Capstone Microturbine where he assisted in the adoption of the novel microturbine technology and was part of the team that started Southern Company Energy Marketing (Mirant). He also held several sales and marketing positions for both ABB Power T&D Company and Westinghouse Electric Corporation (now Eaton Corporation).
Doug holds an executive MBA from Pepperdine and BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh where he attended on a swimming scholarship. He is actively involved in promoting entrepreneurial activities within Pitt’s Swanson School of Engineering.
